2022 DESIGN TRENDS

A new year means new ideas, trends, and changes! We are here to get you up to speed on some of the hottest design trends we’ve seen going into 2022. With January 1st right around the corner, we are about to see a flurry of new homes hit the market which means new homeowners are going to be eager to decorate their spaces in a fresh way.

Organic Homes

Organic Homes

One of the fresh trends we are anticipating is a shift to the more natural. During the pandemic, we saw a lot of people bring greenery and plant life into their homes which will continue into the new year. Not just that though, we will be seeing nature inspire all facets of people’s home decor. Many of the major paint brands have announced their color of the year and a good number are inspired by the outdoors, with hues of green, blue, and brown. We are also seeing a big push for natural textures like solid wood tables with natural edges, rattan & bamboo accent chairs, and linen throw pillows. All of this contributes to a trend we are calling organic homes.

Pops of Black

Pops of Black

Shades of grey are out and stark pops of black are in! We have begun to see this in some of our own stagings but with people inviting a more neutral color scheme into their home, they are adding contrast with a bold black accent. We personally love the timelessness of black & white and think it will add an element of elegance that will be prominent in a lot of 2022 homes.

70’s Comeback

70’s Comeback

Elton John is back on tour and so is his uniquely 70’s style! We are seeing a lot of desire for funky furniture such as curved couches, cognac leather accents, and fun pops of saturated color. This look is young, fun, and just different enough to make homeowners smile. It invited a playfulness into the home that can turn anyone into a Dancing Queen!

Print Party

Along with the fun 70’s throwbacks, we are anticipating lots of mixing of prints in 2022! People are ready for some fun after the past two years and with all this time spent at home, our artistic sides have come out of hiding. We expect to see everything from bright florals to abstract designs filling the walls of houses. For more thoughts on these trends be sure to follow along on our Instagram!
